Estero Island, better known as Fort Myers Beach, is a barrier island, 7 miles long and considered one of the safest beaches in the world due to the calm waters, easy access and gentle slope of the Gulf's bottom.
Water sports, fishing, golf, tennis, boat rentals, cruise ship to The Keys, casino boat, bike & scooter rentals, are all on the island .

Why not see if you can spot a starfish? Starfish live in saltwater on sandy bottoms. They often wash up on beaches after a storm and become stranded when the tide goes out, they can survive if the sun doesn't dry them before the next tide.
Most have 5-arms, the less common have 9-arms. They have no front or back and move in any direction without turning.
It is illegal to remove them from the beach.
